Our Story
River's Edge Home Center was purchased in 2014 by Gianna and Lou Milardo. What began as a tiny store has grown into a state-of-the-art 4,000 sq ft showroom nestled along the scenic Connecticut River in Haddam, by the East Haddam Swing Bridge.
The growth has been word-of-mouth all the way: loyal customers, honest work, and a showroom that keeps expanding with them. Son Louie Jr. joined the team in 2019, and daughter Jourdan works with the family through the summers. Around them is a team that includes an on-site kitchen & bath designer and dedicated flooring specialists.
Building runs deeper than the store. For 30+ years, Lou Sr. ran a construction company building homes across the shoreline and river valley - from Middletown to Madison - and he never stopped. Today Lou and Louie are branching River's Edge back into full building and remodeling: between the two of them, they can GC an entire house, inside and out, and you pick every finish right here in the showroom.

When you hire River's Edge, you're not handing your home to a GC working out of a van who can disappear when something goes wrong. We're a brick-and-mortar business you can walk into - if you ever have a problem, you know exactly where to find us.
Lou and Louie run the estimates themselves. Before any work begins, you'll shake their hands, ask your questions, and decide for yourself whether these are the people you want in your home. Every estimate is free, and the relationship is built on trust from the first visit.
